“No Place Like Rome” is the next feature film by writer and director Cecilia Miniucchi. Determined to ensure the best production of this unique screenplay, director Cecilia Miniucchi has reunited the same team of her feature films “Expired”, “Life Upside Down” and “I Love Amsterdam and...You” (official selections at Sundance, Cannes, Venice, distributed in the U.S. and worldwide) producer Jeffrey Coulter (“I Love Amsterdam and...You”, “Life Upside Down”, “Expired”, “Rushlights”, “Freakshow”) and producer Carl F. Berg (“I Love “Amsterdam and...You”, “Life Upside Down”, “Off The Walls”, “LA SEES ITSELF”).
Connor, (played by Stephen Dorff), a renowned New York photographer, travels to Rome on assignment as Christmas approaches, expecting to reunite with his teenage son. When his son cancels, Connor, estranged from his ex-wife and with no family to return to, chooses to spend the holidays alone. Taking on a new project to capture Rome’s hidden corners during the festivities, he’s joined by Scintilla (played by Critiana Capotondi), an extroverted museum curator. Guided by her and an unexpected psychic’s predictions, Connor rediscovers both the city’s quiet wonders and the possibility of love—despite Scintilla’s playful warning: “We’re perfectly matched for not being together.”
