The international production No Place Like Rome, written and directed by Cecilia Miniucchi, will have its world premiere on October 26th at the Rome Film Fest 2025. Miniucchi, an Italian director who began and continues a successful career in Hollywood, has returned to her home Country, capturing both the hidden and iconic corners of Rome and the landscapes of Umbria, to create a new American love story featuring an exceptional cast.

The film stars Stephen Dorff, Cristiana Capotondi, and Rhada Mitchell, who previously appeared in Miniucchi’s Life Upside Down. The cast also includes Sebastiano Pigazzi, Elisabetta De Palo, Edoardo Natoli, and Martina Iacomelli.

No Place Like Rome follows Connor, a renowned photographer sent to Rome on assignment just as the holiday season begins. He’s expecting his teenage son to join him for Christmas after a difficult divorce he’s yet to fully recover from. But when plans change and his son is no longer coming, Connor, with no family waiting back home, chooses to stay in Rome, alone. As he wanders the city’s narrow streets and hidden courtyards, guided by Scintilla, his vivacious and captivating assistant, Connor begins to rediscover not just the beauty of Rome, but something long dormant within himself and starts to believe that love might just find him again. Even with someone who from the very start told him: “We’re perfectly matched for not being together.”

No Place Like Rome is an American production by Euphoria Productions, produced by Jeffrey Coulter and Carl F. Berg, and Antoni Stutz, longtime collaborators of the director. Among its executive producers, Shaun and Yvette Redick, Oscar winners.

Cecilia Miniucchi, a Camera d’Or nominee and Awards recipient, represents a remarkable example of Italian female excellence exported to the world’s most important film market. Trained and long established in Los Angeles, her films have been featured at prestigious international festivals including Cannes, Venice, Sundance, and London. Her film, Life Upside Down, was made in a rather unusual and innovative way during the early lockdown in Los Angeles, as she directed actors like Bob Odenkirk, Danny Huston and Radha Mitchell, remotely, each isolated in their own homes.
